The H-E-B Tailgate Zone places you right in the heart of all the Vaquero action. From this premium location, you’ll have a front-row view of the Vaquero Walk, as the band, cheerleaders, and dance team lead the Vaqueros from the bus to the locker room before kickoff.

NORTH & SOUTH TAILGATE LOTS

The North & South Tailgate Lots are located along Raul Longoria right outside of Vackar Stadium and are the perfect spots for fans looking to enjoy an energetic, fun-filled game day atmosphere. Gather your friends, fire up the pits, and soak in the energy of Vaqueros football before kickoff.

How far in advance do I need to place my order?

Orders are accepted through the Wednesday prior to each game.

What is included in a tailgate package?

Each package includes a fully set up tailgate space with a tent (or pavilion), table, chairs, and optional add-ons like TVs, grills, coolers, and fans. We handle setup and breakdown—so you just show up and enjoy the game.

Where are the tailgate locations?

The H-E-B Tailgate Zone is located on the Eastside of Vackar Stadium while the North/South Lots are located along Raul Longoria just outside of Robert and Janet Vackar Stadium.

What time does tailgating start?

All tailgating will open 7 hours prior to kickoff.

Do I need to bring anything?

No—everything is set up for you. You can bring your own food, drinks, and personal items to enhance your tailgate.

Can I add extra tables, chairs, or equipment?

Absolutely. You can upgrade your experience with additional seating, TVs, grills, coolers, and more during checkout.

Do I need to set anything up?

No. Our team handles all setup and breakdown. Your tailgate will be ready when you arrive.

What happens after the game?

You can leave once you’re done—our team takes care of takedown.

Is parking included with my tailgate package?

Parking is managed by UTRGV and is not included unless otherwise specified.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

Yes—food and beverages are allowed.

Are grills allowed?

Yes, propane grills are permitted in the HEB Zone and North & South Lots. Charcoal grills are only permitted in the North & South Lots. Grills must be attended at all times and fire extinguishers are required

Can I bring alcohol?

Yes, for guests 21+. However, kegs, bulk containers, and glass containers are not allowed. Please drink responsibly. Quality Tents and UTRGV are not liable for any alcohol related incidents.

Are there any tailgating rules I should know?

 Yes, key UTRGV policies include:

  • No outside tent vendors
  • No smoking (tobacco-free campus)
  • No glass containers
  • No overnight camping
  • No unauthorized selling or promotions

Can I bring branded tents or promote a business?

Only official UTRGV partners can display branded materials.

What happens if it rains?

All tents are designed for outdoor conditions, and tailgating continues rain or shine.

What happens if a game is canceled or rescheduled?

If a game is postponed or rescheduled, your tailgate will automatically transfer to the new date. If a game is canceled, credits may be issued for a future game or season.

What is your cancellation policy?

All sales are final.
